Course

Ingenuity is thrilled to present the next-generation iteration of the Arts Partner Standards of Practice (APSP) as a virtual course on our Ingenuity Virtual Learning (IVL) platform.

Developed collaboratively with the arts education sector, the Arts Partner Standards of Practice (APSP) frameworks offer a cohesive vision and definition for excellence in arts education, providing arts organizations and teaching artists with a shared language for discussing and advocating for quality.

Amidst the pandemic, discussions on the quality of arts education were overshadowed by pressing concerns regarding access. However, as a testament to its adaptive nature as a living document, APSP is poised to reignite these conversations. This enhanced version boasts dynamic, interactive features, empowering individuals and organizations to deeply engage with the material and explore the essence of delivering quality arts education programs. 

The virtual course comprises four modules. These modules will be unveiled sequentially, allowing learners to delve into the content gradually and build upon their understanding with each new release.

Current Release -

Module 1: Build Capacity for Quality - April 2024
The first APSP module to be released will focus on 'Building Capacity for Quality.' An integrated teaching approach that successfully combines both artistic and educational practices in the classroom is one of the most essential elements of quality. Teaching Artists sustain this quality by grounding themselves deeply in both practices, continually learning about educational and artistic advancements, and engaging in a larger community of practice. As an organization, supporting the integrated approach requires training and development for Teaching Artists and other staff members as well as a supportive, healthy organizational culture that supports excellence from the entire workforce.
